This second game is really tough. It should not only be fun but also educate the player about thermodynamics!
Back in my undergraduate, I ever take this class but I kinda forget it now. So, I have no choice but re-read it for this game. Frankly, I really hope the client will give us a quick lesson about thermodynamics and help us with the thermodynamics calculation in the game. Sadly, it is just a hope. The client wanted us to figure it out by ourselves. Well, at least he lend us Physics textbook.
After short discussion with the client, we came up with the game scenario: an astronaut has to escape from his spaceship and in his way he has to solve some thermodynamics puzzle! The client like the game idea: no guessing (only exact answer), non multiple choice puzzle, player has to stop and do some calculation, there will be consequence if player gave wrong answer, and there will also be reward if the player gave correct answer.
Good. The client like the idea and loves it. The problem is our adviser doesn't like it. He commented that this is a homework wrapped in the game! Indeed, it is. That's what the client wants and told us.
It is already a tough beginning. The opinion of the adviser and the client are completely different and contradicting each other. Nevertheless, after a long long discussion we still took the client opinion and we on with the original game idea.
Hope everything well went even though we have a tough beginning.
