First game: Cheesy Bee

Producer: A.J (Anthony Dimmick)
Artist: Alice Owens
Engineers: Jason Thummel, Jake Muehle, and me ^__^

This is the first game I made since I jumped in game industry. The objective we had for this game is to help promote a cheese company. This company has a bee as their logo and thus this is the idea we had: A queen bee was bored of making honey. Thus she got her worker bees making cheese! That's cool and cute for a beginning. What uncool is that we have use MOAI, the language none of the engineers ever used.

OK. Done with the talks. This is the main concept of this game: launch game + gathering materials. In short, the queen bee will launch 2 bees carried a cheese to the air. The bees will fly up until it reached the peak and start flying down. The bees collect additional ingredients to make up the company flavored-cheese on the way. Meanwhile, bees also have to avoid bad materials such as bad egg. Of course there is a way to boost the bee to fly up again. It is done by either pressing finger on the touch screen or by bumping into cows in the ground. The first one sounds easier since it is controllable, however there is a trade-off: losing energy! So, user have to be careful on boosting the bee.

Now after a week studying MOAI and the language it use, LUA, we are ready to jump into the game development. The draft for the game is getting more and more firm either. So far, we are in good shape. To make it even smoother for the development, the engineers agree that we should split the coding job. Thus here we are now. Jason working on the bees movement and collision, Jake working on the background, and I working on the menus, the inputs management, and the sound. Alice, of course, keep working on the arts and A.J keeps an eye on our teamwork and progress.

So far I am satisfied with this team work. I can't wait for the result ^_______^
