This the most interesting and more art-creative assignment of all the graphics assignments. I spent most of my time searching for the model I wanted online (http://www.turbosquid.com), the texture (http://opengameart.org), and positioning the objects to the position I wanted.

For this scene, I used 3 kinds of palm tree each using the same material, a terrain for the island, a plane for the water, and a crate. Below is the description of the effect I used on each:
- Terrain: there is nothing impressive with this terrain. The only impressive thing, possibly is I created the terrain by myself using Maya. The effect used for the terrain is the normal diffuse colour.
- Water surface: I used soft intersection effect for the water to make the water intersection with the terrain look more realistic. I also applied 0.3 transparency of the water and my nebula environment map. To make it even feel like the night scene, I used dark gray background.
- Palm tree: Each palm tree consist of two parts: the trunk and the leaves. The trunk used diffuse and normal map effect while the leaves used alpha binary effect.
- Crate: I intentionally added the crate to have a more apparent normal map effect in my scene. The crate itself originally is a cube. With the crate and crate normal map, it looks like a real crate.
I noticed my shadow sometimes is strange. Well, might be the shadow calculation I applied is not completely correct. Btw, the control of this scene is still the same as previous:
